What is an I-SPY folder?
“I-Spy" folders will develop student responsibility and organization. “I-Spy" means "Informing Students & Parents Yearlong." Through daily use of the "I-Spy" folder, students will develop the skills necessary to be responsible for their homework (if they have any), long term assignments, and notes home.
An I-Spy folder is simply a plastic folder with pockets. If your child is returning to Custer you might have used this folder before, but it probably was is referred to as "The Parent Folder." Each section is labeled to ensure that nothing gets confused. The front pocket is for things that must be returned to school. Students record their homework/assignments each day in their planner. The front of the folder contains the schedule. The back pocket contains things that can be kept at home like finished work and newsletters.
“I-Spy" folders travel to and from school each day, and are a required tool. Please check your child’s "I-Spy" folder as often as possible for completed, graded work and for newsletters with your child's progress.
Folders and planners will be checked each day, and later in the year, spot checked for proper use and care.
